Purchase an out-of-province vehicle inspection request form below and take it to a qualified inspection facility. Once the vehicle meets the Alberta Government’s safety standards, you will receive a ‘green’ inspection certificate form to bring back to Richmond Road Registry which confirms that the vehicle meets provincial standards. At this point you are one step closer to completing the registration process. Once you have your proof of inspection plus all your other additional documentation (see below) you can get your vehicle on the road .If you are bringing a vehicle in from another country, you are also required to get a federal inspection. For more information please visit RIV and Service Canada.
PLEASE NOTE: A brand new vehicle MAY be exempt from the provincial inspection. Please contact us to find out the most up-to-date information on this exemption.
